The issue of knowing the rules before one can break them:  this might be 
a slightly off topic way to ask a question about happy accidents in 
alt.  Now, go with me on this one:  Spoonerisms are delightful turns of 
phrase--but they're not the product of a brilliant, experimental mind, 
are they?  I remember I had a student who couldn't tie two words 
together but who created some of the most brilliant, accidental prose 
I've ever seen (occasionally, that is).  What happens then?
