From teaching_composition@mailman.eppg.com Wed Dec 12 23:56:31 2007 From: teaching_composition@mailman.eppg.com (Michael Day) Date: Wed, 12 Dec 2007 17:56:31 -0600 Subject: [Teaching_Composition] Announcing site of Computers and Writing 2009 Message-ID: <476020CF020000B100031839@wpo.cso.niu.edu> The CCCC Committee on Computers in Composition and Communication (7Cs) is pleased to announce the date and location of Computers and Writing 2009, which will be held June 16-19 on the campus of the University of California, Davis. The theme for C&W 2009 is "Ubiquitous and Sustainable Computing in Schools, at Work and at Play." The planning committee, who hail from UC-Davis, UC-Santa Barbara, and CSU-Sacramento, say that their "goal with this conference is to transcend traditional boundaries: among school, work, and play; among academic disciplines; between k-12 and higher education; between online and offline; and among organizers, attenders, and presenters," and to provide a vision for "sustainable perspectives on lifelong computing and communication." Please see http://writingprogram.ucdavis.edu/carlwhithaus/cw09_1.html for the full proposal, and direct questions to Carl Whithaus, cwwhithaus@gmail.com. For the 7Cs, Cheryl Ball and Michael Day, Co-Chairs From teaching_composition@mailman.eppg.com Thu Dec 13 23:32:28 2007 From: teaching_composition@mailman.eppg.com (Michael Day) Date: Thu, 13 Dec 2007 17:32:28 -0600 Subject: [Teaching_Composition] C & W 2009 Correction Message-ID: <47616CAC020000B100031AA9@wpo.cso.niu.edu> I'm forwarding a note from Carl Whithaus about the Computers and Writing 2009 conference. Please also note that I had the wrong dates in my original announcement. C & W 2009 runs from June 18 to 21. Thanks, Michael _____________________________ Just a quick correction to the announcement about C&W 09: My email addresses are cwwhithausucdavisedu or cwhithausgmailcom The Davis address has the bonus "w" in it. It's best to use the UC Davis one for correspondence about the Computers and Writing conference. We're jazzed about hosting the conference, and we're looking forward to seeing folks in June 09. CompFAQs has two resources that will be useful: One from last year, Advice for the job search, compiled by Melody Bowman: http://comppile.tamucc.edu/wiki/JobSearchAdvice/HomePage And a resource just added, from the POD listserve: http://comppile.tamucc.edu/wiki/AcademicJobInterview/HomePage [Both of these resources are accessible from the CompFAQs home page in the category "Preparing Teachers".] http://comppile.tamucc.edu/wiki/CompFAQs/Home Share these where you think they might assist.
