The Department of English at North Carolina State University seeks an =20=

Associate Professor to join its programs in technical communication, =20
professional writing, and digital media in August 2007. We seek both =20
applications and nominations.

Position Description: Duties include teaching and developing graduate =20=

and undergraduate courses in technical communication, digital media, =20
professional writing, and/or rhetoric of science and technology (3-2 =20
base teaching load). Duties also include advising students, =20
maintaining an active research and publication program, and engaging =20
in professional and university service.

Qualifications: Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in technical =20
communication, rhetoric, or a related field, and an excellent =20
research and teaching record. For appointment at the associate =20
professor level, the publication record must include a peer-reviewed =20
book or at least five significant articles in peer-reviewed journals. =20=

Applications from advanced assistant professors will be considered. =20
Preferred areas of specialization include information architecture, =20
internet studies, multimedia design and production, electronic =20
communication across the curriculum, computer-mediated communication, =20=

computer-supported cooperative work, rhetoric of science and =20
technology, and environmental rhetoric. Experience with funded =20
research or industry contracts is desirable.
