Columbia College Chicago invites applications for the position of Writing
Center Director, full-time, academic staff.  Our established Writing Center,
serving 600-700 students per week, provides a vibrant teaching and learning
environment for a community of writers, readers, and thinkers. The Director
of the Writing Center is responsible for leadership and administration of
the Writing Center and for teaching one course per semester in the
First-year Writing program.
 
Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of current theories that
underpin tutoring and peer-tutor training and possess a sound pedagogical
vision that integrates WAC and tutor development. Experience in tutoring and
teaching writing to culturally and linguistically diverse populations of
college students strongly preferred. Preference will be given to candidates
with a Ph.D. in composition/rhetoric and writing center administrative
experience.
